Classes & Workshops

We all need to know we're not alone.  Meeting other parents on the same journey can help you feel connected to a community of like-minded families.

When parents understand their child's needs and development as well as the impact of their own  histories, they are able to intentionally tailor their parenting and home environment to one in which everyone thrives.

HeartWork for Families can give you new tools for parenting challenging kids.  We draw from a variety of programs all centered on relationship building to  give you what you need to nurture your family.

Trust-Based Relational Intervention and Circle of Security Parenting programs are available twice per year.  One day workshops are held regularly.  Workshops for professionals are also held occasionally. Workshops and speaking engagements can be arranged for your group on the topic of your choosing.

Coaching

Through our individualized coaching sessions, parents are provided tailored support and scaffolding.  In these sessions, parents are empowered to understand their child's unique needs and develop specific strategies to take an active role in their child’s healing.   They become more confident in providing trauma informed care to their children.

As a result of these sessions, parents will be equipped to:

  • Understand how trauma chemically and physically impacts developing brains.

  • Recognize your child's behaviors as survival strategies that have outlasted their initial use.

  • Support your child's emotional and biological needs.

  • Administer effective correction compassionately.

  • Examine what you bring to the relationship.

The goal is to improve the relationship between parents and children using strategies that involve connecting, empowering, and correcting your child in ways that disarm fear and promote healing from trauma.
